Michael Lazenby is a finance analyst, licensed pilot, and the founder of MacroHint. He studied economics, business, and government at the University of Texas at Austin, where he was also a columnist for The Daily Texan. Before MacroHint, Michael developed his analytical framework through hedge fund research — the kind of work that requires understanding not just what the numbers say, but what they mean.
He created Follow The Money — MacroHint’s proprietary series tracking corporate flight patterns to identify executive movements before they become market news. As a pilot himself, Michael brings a uniquely literal perspective to following where money actually goes.
Michael interviews founders, operators, and investors for MacroHint’s interview series — conversations with the people who actually build companies, allocate capital, and shape markets. His guests have included self-made billionaires, fintech pioneers, and policy makers.

Misty Shelley is a writer, strategist, and the architectural force behind MacroHint. She studied writing at Northwestern University and brings a rare combination of narrative intelligence and operational precision to financial media — the person who makes sure the vision actually happens.
She handles MacroHint’s editorial strategy, production, and the interview pipeline that puts Michael in rooms with the people who shape markets.
She is currently based in Europe.
